Introducing Ann Arbor Chiropractor Dr. Thomas Klapp

"I thank God everyday for that car accident..."

It was 1970, I was 16 years old and driving down the road in my Volkswagen Beetle when all of a sudden, I was distracted somehow, and in that moment, I plowed into the back of a pick-up truck. The front-end of my Beetle was crushed almost to the windshield, I hit my head on the windshield and almost passed-out. All I could think about was how bad my car looked! It was damaged badly, but not as badly as I was. Even though there was no blood that day, and no ambulance, I suffered a horrible injury—as auto accident victims often do—I just didn't know it for several years following the accident—as auto accident victims often don't.

After the accident, I developed severe headaches and allergies I'd never had before the accident. And, just like many other people do, I took medicine like it was going out of style—to no avail. The pain and allergies just got worse.

Finally, after suffering for five years with these headaches and allergies, I learned about chiropractic and what a miracle! My headaches disappeared, my allergies cleared up!

I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor.

I thank God every day for that car accident! If I hadn't been involved in that accident I may not have learned about the benefits of chiropractic to my own health. I may not have decided to become a doctor of chiropractic and I may not have seen all the miracles I've seen through chiropractic in my 27 years of practice.

I'm married to my beautiful wife, Kim, who manages both the Ann Arbor and the Northville office. We have a young daughter, Victoria (we call her Tori). We never have a dull moment with her around!

Kim, Tori and I try to live a lifestyle consistent with our chiropractic and other health beliefs. For example, Kim loves to cook and when she does, she uses only the best natural (organic, if possible) ingredients (no chemicals, growth or other hormones, no pesticides, no artificial coloring, flavoring, nothing). We drink only purified or high-quality bottled water. We try to exercise regularly (I confess, I'm not as "regular" an exerciser as I should be). We take the nutritional supplements we recommend to our clients. We try to get 7-9 hours of great sleep every night (when Tori lets us). And, we are all regular chiropractic wellness clients. Even Tori. She's been under chiropractic care since she was about one hour old! I've been under chiropractic care for over 30 years now. After all, why would I recommend something to my clients that my family and I don't do ourselves?

Enough about me! What about you? Do you have a health challenge I can help you safely and naturally overcome? I look forward to meeting you in person and learning how we can be of service to you.

We know your time is precious and the time you've spent on our site is much appreciated. Thank you. Please give us a call so we can help you take your first step toward better health.

Dr. Tom Asks some important questions of interest to Ann Arbor residents - Chiropractor Ann Arbor Dr. Tom Asks...

Do chiropractors prescribe medications for the pain?
No. Chiropractic is a drug-free approach to better health. Instead, we rely on natural methods. We can show you how to use ice to control pain. When properly applied, ice can have an analgesic effect without the unwanted and sometimes dangerous effects of pain medications.
What is the significance of "growing pains?"
Chiropractors know that aches or pains at any age mean something's not right. In fact, many children go through stages of growth without aches or pains. So while "growing pains" may be common, they're not normal. That's why our Ann Arbor chiropractic practice sees lots of children. A chiropractic checkup for your child can often help detect and correct problems that are more difficult to correct in Ann Arbor adults.
