CHIROPRACTOR
Jolanua Holmes D.C.
Dr. Holmes is a Michigan native, and after earning her bachelor's of science degree in premed-human biology at Michigan State University, she obtained her doctorate degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. She enjoys taking care of patients ranging all ages from infancy to geriatric with an emphasis on pregnant women and children.
During her spare time she loves traveling and fishing with her fiancé, spending time with family, cooking, and shopping. Her main focus is to help her patients achieve their highest quality of life through chiropractic care and patient education on healthy lifestyle.
"I was first introduced to chiropractic during my gap year of college as I was studying for the MCAT and working as a medical assistant. During this time, I suffered from a serious low back strain that had me in excruciating pain for MONTHS--pain that altered my walking and barely allowed me to function regularly.
I had tried everything from over-the-counter meds to prescriptions meds and nothing helped. I finally went to a chiropractor and was incredibly mind blown by how just ONE WEEK of care had me pain-free and back to living my life.
It was so life-changing that I literally changed my entire career path just to be able to help others experience the wonderful benefits of chiropractic as I had. Our bodies are capable of doing amazing things and as a chiropractor, I love adjusting my patients, naturally assisting their bodies in optimizing it's healing and functional process."

FOUNDER
Thomas Klapp D.C.
Dr. Tom Klapp founded First Choice Chiropractic in 1980. While he passed in 2020, his legacy lives on through his practice and the many contributions he made to the chiropractic profession. Here is his story:
“It was 1970, I was 16 years old and driving down the road in my Volkswagen Beetle when all of a sudden, I was distracted somehow, and in that moment, I plowed into the back of a pick-up truck. The front-end of my Beetle was crushed almost to the windshield, I hit my head on the windshield and almost passed-out. All I could think about was how bad my car looked! It was damaged badly, but not as badly as I was. Even though there was no blood that day, and no ambulance, I suffered a horrible injury—as auto accident victims often do—I just didn't know it for several years following the accident—as auto accident victims often don't.
After the accident, I developed severe headaches and allergies I'd never had before the accident. And, just like many other people do, I took medicine like it was going out of style—to no avail. The pain and allergies just got worse. Finally, after suffering for five years with these headaches and allergies, I learned about chiropractic and what a miracle! My headaches disappeared, and my allergies cleared up! I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor.
I thank God every day for that car accident! If I hadn't been involved in that accident I may not have learned about the benefits of chiropractic to my own health. I may not have decided to become a doctor of chiropractic and I may not have seen all the miracles I've seen through chiropractic in my 41 years of practice.”
Dr. Klapp was awarded “Chiropractor of the Year” by the Michigan Association of Chiropractors an unprecedented three times, as well as posthumously by the International Chiropractors Association. He was also named Detroit Hour Magazine “Top Chiropractor” four times. He served on the Life University Board of Trustees, as President of OneChiropractic, and Board Members of the Michigan Chiropractic Foundation and the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress at the time of his passing. His many positions of service to the profession and the community throughout his life and resulting awards and achievements are immeasurable. His wife of nearly 26 years, Kim, continues to run the practice and his daughter, Tori works here as well when home from DePaul University.
